Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent Granted Gloucester
Working in association with architects SG Peglau, Brodie Planning have secured planning permission and listed building consent for our mutual client, Pivotal Homes, for the conversion of a Grade II listed building at Worcester Street, Gloucester into six studio flats for vulnerable adults, along with communal ancillary accommodation and an independent flat at basement level (Use Class C3). The scheme, which will provide much needed housing for Pivotal’s clients also includes enhancements to the listed building, including reinstatement of iron railings to the front boundary, reinstatement of a timber-framed sliding sash window to the front elevation and installation of a more historically correct fanlight above the front door. Planning – Planning Permission Granted
Case Type: Listed Building Consent
On 21st June planning permission and listed building consent were granted to our client Marst Developments for the conversion of a former Council owned nursing home at Preston Park House in Yeovil to use as two high-end four and five bedroom dwellings [South Somerset District Council, 16/01620/FUL & 16/01621/LBC].
The scheme, described by the Historic England Inspector as enhancing the aesthetic appreciation of the main heritage asset on the site, will reinstate the integrity of the listed building through the removal of later unsympathetic additions and reinstate its plan form and original use, providing one three storey house in the main part of the house and a part single part two-storey dwelling in its Edwardian garden room, supplemented by a contemporary two storey element overlooking the spacious south-facing lawn. Also included as part of the development is the provision of three new build dwellings – one single storey 2 bedroom ‘lodge’ and two substantial two storey detached 4 and 5 bedroom houses. Overall, the approved scheme will deliver five well appointed dwellings with well orientated garden spaces, allocated off street parking and garages / car ports in this much sought after part of the town adjacent to Preston Park.
