Winchcombe Methodist Church

Winchcombe Methodist Church

Winchcombe Methodist Church

We are delighted to announce that on the 24th November, we received planning permission from Tewkesbury Borough Council for the conversion of Winchcombe Methodist Church to a community performing arts centre.

Winchcombe Arts and Community Hub (WACH), in association with WAM Youth, Winchcombe’s ‘We All Matter’ youth group, sought to convert the Methodist Church and to transform it into a versatile, dynamic hub that fosters creativity, inclusivity, and community spirit. At Brodie Planning, we were delighted to to join in on this ambitious project.

WACH envision a space that facilitates:

Creativity & Inspiration –

We aim to offer an inviting arts space that encourages creative exploration and learning. This will be a venue where individuals can both gain inspiration and entertain others, nurturing a vibrant arts culture within Winchcombe.

Youth Empowerment –

Recognising the importance of investing in our future, WACH will provide a safe and welcoming indoor space for our local youth. Through a variety of activities, we strive to support them in achieving their full potential and becoming active contributors to our community.

Community Engagement –

As a central hub for Winchcombe, our goal is to host a range of community-led events and activities. This space will be a melting pot of ideas, collaborations, and shared experiences, reinforcing our community bonds.

Join WACH and Brodie Planning on this exciting journey as as the Church is re-envisioned and re-purposed into a thriving hub for the arts and community in Winchcombe.

Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust

Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust

Partnership with Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Black Sheep Shepherds Huts, to provide a unique opportunity at the Slimbridge site for overnight stays in luxury Shepherds huts.

The proposals involve the placement of five Shepherds huts on an existing grassed area to the north-east of the current Slimbridge site, which currently forms part of the overspill car park.

These huts, available in two designs, The Cheviot (7.2m by 2.5m) and The Lincoln (7.5m by 3m), will each provide one king-sized bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom, all finished to an exceptionally high standard.

Finished in painted metal the huts also provide a small area of outside decking, with the aim of offering a unique outdoor experience for occupants. A parking area with a pedestrian footway will lead visitors to the huts, accessible through the existing access points in the visitors and overspill car park.

Beyond providing additional short-term holiday accommodation, the vision for the huts is to create a distinctive opportunity for guests. Occupants will have exclusive access to the wildfowl and wetlands, allowing them to explore walkways and observe nature and wildlife beyond the regular opening hours of the visitor centre.

This initiative not only enhances the visitor experience at the Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust by offering short-stay accommodation linked to the site itself but also provides convenient lodging near other tourist attractions.

Operated in conjunction with the visitor centre as part of a charitable trust, any financial gains generated from the huts will be reinvested directly into the conservation of the Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust site, contributing to their ambitious conservation goals.

Join us in our journey to creating a one-of-a-kind experience that supports wildlife preservation and fosters a deeper connection with nature!
