Well-Being Studio & Swimming Pool
Outbuilding, Broadwell
Location: Broadwell, Cotswolds
Case Type: Construction of well-being studio and indoor swimming pool
Council: Cotswold District Council
Status: Approved
BPA are proud to have designed and secured planning permission for an incidental outbuilding in the Cotswold AONB.
The proposal revitalises previously developed and now redundant land by providing an indoor swimming pool and well-being studio. The sympathetic design incorporates a blended mixture of traditional and contemporary details, complete with a bio-diverse green roof to allow a seamless integration with the surrounding countryside. Detailed visualisations incorporating real imagery of the surrounding landscape were submitted alongside a strong planning statement to clearly demonstrate the planning and design merits of the proposal. Subsequently, the application was approved under the 8 week determination period. Great news for all involved!

Location: St Winifred’s, Willersey, Cotswolds
Case Type: Full planning application for the construction of 2no. dwellinghouses
Council: Cotswold District Council
Status: Approved and built out
BPA are pleased to have firstly, secured permission for the construction of two new detached dwellings with double garages and secondly, to have produced the construction drawings in the build out of this very attractive vernacular scheme. The site is located in a conservation area and in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Nature Beauty (CAONB) wherein conserving and enhancing the character and appearance of the area and protecting its natural beauty is paramount in development proposals. At application stage, although the design spoke for its self and we received no adverse comments from the conservation office and no revisions or amends were necessary we did have other tricky planning issues to adequately address relating to access, ecology, trees and drainage. Strategies were produced for all four of these material planning matters which resulted in a timely permission being issued by the LPA (Cotswold District Council). Our strategic planning approach stood us in good stead on this and many other of our planning applications as well as extensive experience in negotiating planning permissions. Now built and sold we are immensely proud of our work and the professional relationship we take care to maintain with our clients. Please do give us a call to see how we can assist you.

Grade II listed Cottage Greenhouse, Poulton
Permission for a beautiful bespoke greenhouse designed by Hartley Botanic has been secured.
The construction of a greenhouse usually falls under permitted development, however due to its placement within the curtilage of a grade II listed building and its location within the local conservation area, planning permission was required. The applicant sought our assistance to rectify the invalidation letter of their previously submitted application. Our role was to submit a heritage statement that clearly assessed the level of potential harm of the proposed development on the designated heritage asset, which in this case was neutral. Once instructed by the applicant, clear communication was established between ourselves and the assigned case officer which allowed for a smooth process and a happy outcome for the client.

Goodbye Utilitarian Portal Frame Agricultural Building… Hello Beautiful Cotswold Stone Dwellinghouse.
–
Replacement dwellinghouse secured following the grant of permission for a residential conversion of portal frame agricultural building in the Cotswolds. A beautiful Cotswold stone dwellinghouse to replace a far less attractive portal frame barn. This has been an interesting application where clearly setting out the planning benefits and working with local planning authority officers has resulted in the secure of permission.
