Replacement Dwelling – 25 Brewers Lane, Badsey

Replacement Dwelling Approved

Planning permission has been granted for a replacement dwelling in Badsey.

Following securing permission for extensions and alterations to 25 Brewers Lane structural issues became apparent in the early stages of construction resulting in works having to stop. Brodie Planning establish a pragmatic approach to resolve the situation by applying for a replacement dwelling.

This approach allowed and provided the opportunity to incorporate and improve sustainable energy solutions though the build, thereby reducing its carbon emissions and contributing towards the aim of a low carbon future.

Status: Approved

BPA are delighted to announce securing Planning Permission for a modern replacement dwelling at Waterside in Cheltenham.

Following on from the granting of a previous permission on the site, we worked closely with the clients to piece together a new application.

In the hopes of providing a bespoke, contemporary property for our clients, this application sought permission for an updated external design to the previously approved dwelling as well as an alternative interior layout.

The updated external design responds beautifully to the properties unique setting along the River Chelt, as well as meeting all of the clients day-to-day needs in terms of essential functioning as a family home.

In regards to the new design, Cheltenham Borough Council Architectural Panel concluded that “the architecture is even arguably improved as it is an updated design which reflects up-to-date styles and techniques.”

BPA has secured full planning permission for 4no. high-quality detached dwellings in Stow-on-the-Wold.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site (Cotswold AONB and in close proximity to designated heritage assets) coupled with the sites complex and rather colourful planning history, we undertook pre-application discussions with the local authority. During which, we successfully established the principle of residential development on the whole of the site area, and sought to clarify from the council regarding the issues that needed to be addressed to secure a positive determination. The result is a cleverly designed scheme, incorporating features typical of the Cotswold vernacular with a contemporary twist.

Through our strong planning submission and positive engagement with the case officer, the application was approved under delegated authority.

Portal Frame Agricultural Building to Dwellinghouse

Portal Frame Agricultural Building to Dwellinghouse

Goodbye Utilitarian Portal Frame Agricultural Building… Hello Beautiful Cotswold Stone Dwellinghouse.

Replacement dwellinghouse secured following the grant of permission for a residential conversion of portal frame agricultural building in the Cotswolds.   A beautiful Cotswold stone dwellinghouse to replace a far less attractive portal frame barn.  This has been an interesting application where clearly setting out the planning benefits and working with local planning authority officers has resulted in the secure of permission.
