Pennycook confirmed that the government remained “on track” to respond to its consultation on proposed changes to the NPPF and publish a revised version of the document before the end of the year, saying that officials were working through the more than 10,000 responses received “at pace”. In addition to other proposals The government will consult on national development management policies ‘next year’ before publishing another ‘slimmed down’ NPPF. Pennycook revealed that the government plans to consult on proposals for new national development management policies (NDMPs) next year, after which it will publish a “slimmed down” version of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) focused solely on plan-making.
