Overwhelming support at Tewkesbury Borough Council Planning Committee meeting this morning for an application to convert a disused former stables building into two holiday let units. Brodie Planning are pleased with the success of this submission due to the support this type of development offers the rural economy and moreover, securing an appropriate use for a disused historic building thereby prolonging its life. The preparation of the application required careful consideration on a number of complex matters including the non-designated heritage asset status of the building and its siting within a rich historic context (both natural and built); the presence of bats in the building; along with more typical requirements for surface water and foul drainage, and highway/sustainable transport matters.

Redevelopment scheme of 5 contemporary town houses
Planning approval secured for a redevelopment scheme of 5 contemporary town houses following the demolition of a former public house in a prestigious waterfront location. The dwellings have been designed to identify with the working origins of the River Avon and its importance to this market town. BPA have worked closely with all parties involved to ensure the success of this redevelopment.

Redevelopment scheme of 5 contemporary town houses
Working in association with architects SG Peglau, Brodie Planning have secured planning permission and listed building consent for our mutual client, Pivotal Homes, for the conversion of a Grade II listed building at Worcester Street, Gloucester into six studio flats for vulnerable adults, along with communal ancillary accommodation and an independent flat at basement level (Use Class C3). The scheme, which will provide much needed housing for Pivotal’s clients also includes enhancements to the listed building, including reinstatement of iron railings to the front boundary, reinstatement of a timber-framed sliding sash window to the front elevation and installation of a more historically correct fanlight above the front door.

Redevelopment scheme of 5 contemporary town houses
Planning permission secured within Cheltenham’s Central Conservation Area for two semi detached 4-bed dwellings following the demolition of a single bungalow. The building is a contemporary interpretation of the late Georgian period which reflects and reinforces surrounding buildings and shall act to enhance this part of the conservation area.
